The light novel series, written by Sai Sumimori, was originally published on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website beginning in September 2018. A manga adaptation, illustrated by Ai Takahashi, began serialization in April 2019 on the Niconico Suiyobi no Sirius website, with the seventh volume releasing in Japan on September 8. Kodansha USA releases the English edition of the manga, and describes the series as such:

The official website and Twitter account for the Am I Actually the Strongest? manga announced today the series will receive an official anime adaptation, scheduled to air in 2023. The accounts noted more details will be announced at a later date, alongside the release of a teaser visual.
